The Carriage House Studio and Gallery presents a Fashion Photography Exhibit @ DC Fotoweek 2009, the first juried photography competition and exhibition featuring the work of professional and emerging photographers, working and/or living in the Mid-Atlantic region. Winning entries will be selected based on three criteria: (a) creative fashion concept; (b) use of technical elements of composition and lighting and (c) best overall fashion design and model image.  Any still photographic medium can be submitted for consideration, including film and digital formats. The competition is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional. Selected photographers’ work will be featured in the DC Fotoweek Fashion Photography Exhibit, a group exhibition at the Carriage House Studio and Gallery, with Opening Night on November 10th to  December 18, 2009.

Deadline: All entries must be received Oct. 26 th, 2009. Completed entries must include the entry form, payment of entry fee, submitted electronic files and a copy of the entrant’s resume.

Fees: A non-refundable fee of $15 entitles the photographer to submit  up to four works to the competition, or $25 entitles the photographer to submit up to 8 works.   Additional works may be submitted for $5 per work. Payment may be made by Pay Pal or by check to Studio PFP LLC.

Eligibility: The competition is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional of Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Notification: The selected photographs will be announced on the The Carriage House Studio and Gallery web-site on Oct. 28th (http://www.dcphotocoop.com.) The individual prints of the selected works will not be returned to the photographer and will become part of the permanent  photography collection of the Carriage House Studio and Gallery.

Specifications: All works must be submitted electronically via e-mail or CD. Only submissions following the proper format as outlined below will be accepted.

Label the CD and also include an electronic plain text file on the the CD with your name, contact email, and phone number.  If you file by email, include your name, contact email, and phone number in the body of the email Send the submitted image sized and saved at 72 dpi by 900 pixels in longest dimension in JPEG format for viewing, and at 300 dpi by 1800 pixels in longest dimension in TIFF format for reproduction purposes.  Unless other arrangements are made, all selected images will be printed, framed and mounted by the Carriage House Studio and Gallery.

Legal Rights: The Carriage House Studio and Gallery reserves the right to reproduce selected works for marketing purposes. Photographers retain all other rights.

Works for Sale: Applicants must indicate prior to the selection process if their works are for sale. The Carriage House Studio and Gallery retains a 40% commission on all works sold in the galleries and will issue checks to the photographers after the exhibition closes
