Portrait Lighting Workshop

Welcome to our Portrait Lighting Workshop!

Time: 7 pm to 10 pm

The skills and knowledge you obtain in this portraiture workshop will pay for themselves many times over. Participants will use their cameras with the studio strobe and continuous lights so that they have a set of images at the end of the workshop that demonstrate the various lighting arrangements for studio portrait photography. During the workshop you will produce both portrait images of yourself, and a professional model, for your portfolio!

A. Basic 1, 2, 3 and 4  light set ups for portrait photography

B.  Lighting and posing subjects for portraits: – Glamour  – Business – Personal – Athletic – Artistic

C.  Lighting styles: Rembrant – Butterfly – Clamshell – Profile

D. Use of beauty dish, umbrellas, soft boxes,  grids, and reflectors.

E. Use of backgrounds – white – black velvet – muslin

F.  Retouching software for color and B&W portraits including:  hair – skin – eyes – eyebrows – mouth

By the end of the workshop, you will be comfortable using studio lights for a portrait photography session and retouching the images for your client, at the Carriage House Studio or elsewhere.

Workshop Participants:  Maximum of 6 participants.

Cost:  95$  (includes use of Pocket Wizard)

Equipment Required: Digital Camera with Hot Shoe
